FKE News

First of all, Thank you All so much for helping out during Learn At Every Turn.  We could not execute this event without the help of our community partners, parents, staff & teachers.  The kids had a wonderful time today!  We are so grateful for your support!!

We have two events approaching in the next couple of weeks.

On November 7th, our school provides a Teacher Luncheon for the staff during Parent/Teacher conference day.  FKE is an awesome school with an amazing staff.   It’s our turn to give thanks to our teachers and staff for teaching and taking care of our kiddos everyday.  If you can help out, there is a link below for needed donations.

We also have our Veteran’s Day Program on November 10th.  This is such a wonderful time for our students to show appreciation to our veterans.  We are lucky to have so many veteran visit for this program.  We are in need of volunteers to help serve breakfast and check in our veterans.  There is a link below if you can help us out the morning of November 10th.

October News!

Learn At Every Turn

Learn at Every Turn (LAET) is getting closer! The school-wide event will take place on Friday, October 27th and will run from 8:15 AM – 1:45 PM.

WHAT IS LAET? In lieu of daily school activities your student will rotate through to educational and fun-filled sessions. PTO has lined up local community members, parents, family members, etc. who will volunteer their time to teach our students a variety of topics that they otherwise may not be exposed to. They will truly “learn at every turn!” We have a very exciting line up put together!  Specific details of the sessions your student will get to attend will be sent out after fall break! If you have any questions in general about the event, please contact Angie Cassis at angieberk@yahoo.com or call/text (317) 523-4361.

WANT TO JOIN IN ON THE DAY? Because the children are changing rooms and participating in new and exciting activities, we like to have chaperones rotate with each classroom to help the children and the instructors, as needs arise. Your help makes the day run much smoother.  This is a great opportunity to spend a special day with your child! If you would like to be a classroom chaperone for LAET please visit the following link to sign up: http://bit.ly/LAET2017

We need to ensure each classroom is covered by enough chaperones, and that we have a solid headcount for the catered lunch. So, if you plan to attend, it is important that you directly sign up via the link above, or let Angela Tisdale know. Thanks! Angela.tisdale@gmail.com or (859) 619-1632

Before visiting the link to sign up to chaperone, give thought to:

  • If you have more than one FKE student, do you want to chaperone in one classroom or split your time?

  • Do you want to purchase the $5.00 lunch (Chick-fil-A sandwiches, fruit, pasta salad, dessert and drink)? Keep in mind, we provide a headcount for lunch a week in advance; ordering the day of is not an option.

Note About Lunch at Learn at Every Turn:

Lunch will be served in the lunchroom for adults only, the children have a great time eating a special lunch in their classroom with their teachers! You must eat your lunch in the lunchroom without your child due to allergy concerns. After you’ve eaten, you may join your child in their classroom. Children are not permitted in the lunchroom nor will they be given the adult lunch option.

*Prior to the event, you must have a completed limited background check on file. These forms are located at the front office, or can be downloaded from our FKE website under the Parent/Volunteers section.

*Please refrain from bringing younger siblings to the event, thanks!

We appreciate all the support in making Learn at Every Turn happen! It is such a wonderful and memorable event for the students that wouldn’t be possible without the efforts of many.
